I do think that it is too late to make a change here. This feature has been in browsers for 2 years. We do not only have to consider the current websites using this but also the long tail of users on previous browsers versions. If a change is made it is not sufficient for authors to update their code, all end users also need to be on a browser version that has adopted this change. The current behavior might be a footgun for authors but they can learn about this. Making a change that effectively inverts colors will harm end users. ------ I do however agree with the use cases. I just think it needs to be a new thing that authors can opt in to and can test support for. -- GitHub Notification of comment by romainmenke Please view or discuss this issue at https://github.com/w3c/csswg-drafts/issues/13836#issuecomment-4452061218 using your GitHub account -- Sent via github-notify-ml as configured in https://github.com/w3c/github-notify-ml-config
