I've recently annotated the spec with the WPTs we currently have. And there are multiple tests related to spanning cells and `visibility: collapse`. See https://drafts.csswg.org/css-tables/#visibility-collapse-track-rendering. Those tests need to be verified whether they actually cover the expected behavior resolved on here, though.
