Doesn't the existing [max-block-size: stretch](https://html.spec.whatwg.org/multipage/rendering.html#the-select-element-2:~:text=max%2Dblock%2Dsize%3A%20stretch%3B) rule take care of this problem? At least on [this test site](https://output.jsbin.com/pusukon), in Chrome, it seems to do the right thing: <img height=600 src="https://github.com/user-attachments/assets/8a21f7d7-02aa-4ba9-aabb-9c9b17d843ec"> -- GitHub Notification of comment by mfreed7 Please view or discuss this issue at https://github.com/w3c/csswg-drafts/issues/13526#issuecomment-3923678275 using your GitHub account -- Sent via github-notify-ml as configured in https://github.com/w3c/github-notify-ml-config
