I don’t know whether we’ll follow through on the intent for future display values. But I don’t think it’s harmful to defer the question until it comes up next. I’m looking for compromise between people convinced we need this particular `inline-*` value and those unhappy that we have not followed through with our longstanding intent. One reason for this current exception is the correspondence with `inline-grid` - perhaps in the future that won’t be an issue. Another reason for this current exception is that the available data hasn’t shown author uptake of the two-value form, in part because it took a while for the two-value form to be widely available. Perhaps in the future the author usage data will shift. I think there are enough folks that don’t want to give up on the two-value intent just yet, that taking this one value as an exception is a reasonable compromise. How `inline-grid-lanes` serializes could perhaps be a new, separate issue. -- GitHub Notification of comment by astearns Please view or discuss this issue at https://github.com/w3c/csswg-drafts/issues/10961#issuecomment-3917670961 using your GitHub account -- Sent via github-notify-ml as configured in https://github.com/w3c/github-notify-ml-config
