oSamDavis has just created a new issue for https://github.com/w3c/csswg-drafts: == [css-gaps-1]: Defer percentages insets to future version of css gaps == In CSS Gaps 1, percentage values used for gap decoration segment endpoint adjustments currently resolve against the [crossing gap width](https://www.w3.org/TR/css-gaps-1/#crossing-gap-width) at a junction. However, this creates ambiguity and is confusing in layouts where the gap in a direction is not uniform. Specifically, in a multi-line flex layouts where the gap between items can vary due to content distribution/alignment: <img width="631" height="194" alt="Image" src="https://github.com/user-attachments/assets/2d1eb368-6130-416d-932b-e12a19726b9d" /> This issue proposes deferring percentage values for the inset properties to a future level of CSS Gaps, while we gather more author feedback and converge on an intuitive percentage basis and semantics. Note: For the most common percentage use case (-50%), issue [13137 ](https://github.com/w3c/csswg-drafts/issues/13137) resolved to add a keyword. Therefore, the segment joining behavior still remains possible. cc: @jav099 @kbabbitt Please view or discuss this issue at https://github.com/w3c/csswg-drafts/issues/13481 using your GitHub account -- Sent via github-notify-ml as configured in https://github.com/w3c/github-notify-ml-config
