It’s not too uncommon to encounter classes with double hyphens, e.g. `foo--bar`, and (outside CSS) I’ve seen hyphens (but more often underscores) as end-side fillers where name components had to be padded to meet a certain fixed length, or whitespace had been substituted. I understand that those are very weak counter examples.
