Great discussion today - thank you.
So we decided that an `::interest-button` pseudo element is the best approach for this API. (The minutes don't fully capture it, but almost everyone voted for the pseudo element, along with every other option (e.g. `1 + 4 | 2 | 3`). But we concluded at the end that `::interest-button` was the strong majority opinion for a V1 approach. Things like the JS API (option 4) can always be discussed/added later.)
There are now these open questions, related to `::interest-button`:
- What should the UA stylesheet rule be?
- Desire is to have this be opt-out.
- So button is always present? With what content?
- Or should there be a media query (coarse pointers?) in the UA stylesheet?
- Styling - like an appearance:base button?
- Where in the pseudo element list does this one go? After the element, before `::after`?
Ideally comment here with your view on the above questions, and we can see if some/all can be resolved async. But I'll bring this back to the group at some point soon to make more progress if needed.
