I'd like to reopen this because a color expert colleague shared the following: > IMHO, this is a very weird twist on BT.1886 specification, which says that for converting scene referred data tagged with ITU Rec.2020 (which besides primaries contains OETF as a transfer function) to display referred data we should use gamma 2.4 (which is a calculated EOTF from the mentioned OETF). On Apple platforms we do it when converting the data and we don’t need a separate color space like Rec.2020 with EOTF. Seems to me that the proposed color space is a hack to help those who don’t know a difference between OETF and EOTF. -- GitHub Notification of comment by annevk Please view or discuss this issue at https://github.com/w3c/csswg-drafts/issues/12574#issuecomment-3273340095 using your GitHub account -- Sent via github-notify-ml as configured in https://github.com/w3c/github-notify-ml-config
