Re: [csswg-drafts] Mixing :is() (or equivalent) with pseudo-elements (#9702)

For what little it’s worth, my mental model does not like (naked) pseudo-elements nor the universal element selector inside `:is()`. Can we have a dedicated asterisk and colon-free pseudo-class function like `:as(element, before, after)` instead?
