@valler My issue is that the spec does not clearly explain how the metrics of the various inline boxes (from different fonts) are used to determine the final height of the line box when a fixed line-height is specified. A developer's expectation is that the line-height on the block container will set the final height of the line box. The actual behavior—where the line-height is used to size the individual inline boxes, and the browser then calculates a new, taller line box height to contain their aligned geometry—is the non-intuitive part that needs clarification.
