Re: [csswg-drafts] [css-grid-3][masonry] impact of negative margins on running positions within a track, dense-packing, and alignment (#12918)

@fantasai I think this makes sense for alignment. For dense packing, does this mean that even if we decide to place an item in a lower gap, it may actually contribute to an earlier gap, for example, in the following case:

Would we remove space in both gaps, even though we placed the item in the second gap? Or would it just contribute to the gap it was technically placed in?
