`stripes()` is a very useful gradient-like function, and I would love to use it on borders… but not to solve this problem. When I want a striped border, I'm imagining something like I would achieve with border-image – the stripes are able to continue on the same axis across all borders. But when I want to stack borders, I expect multiple borders. The OP here also calls it multiple borders. The polls all show a strong preference for multiple borders. it feels extremely natural to me that I could define a list of borders and have them stack up. I have use-cases where I'd love to use various border-style combinations, and use-cases where I might stack striped borders. That approach opens up so many possibilities, it doesn't involve learning any new syntax, and it matches box-shadow/backgrounds as mentioned. I just list the borders that I want. :) -- GitHub Notification of comment by mirisuzanne Please view or discuss this issue at https://github.com/w3c/csswg-drafts/issues/13044#issuecomment-3526126572 using your GitHub account -- Sent via github-notify-ml as configured in https://github.com/w3c/github-notify-ml-config
