After reviewing the survey results and commentary, Tab, Alison, and I believe `grid-lanes` is likely the best non-`masonry` option to propose. There were concerns around "stacking" and "packing"/"compact" as being too connected to other concepts (z-axis stacking, grid density), whereas several commented that `grid-lanes` is simple and clearly evokes the core concepts of masonry layout (single-axis tracks, packing towards the front). It also works reasonably well as a potential shorthand for setting up the template (#12023). -- GitHub Notification of comment by fantasai Please view or discuss this issue at https://github.com/w3c/csswg-drafts/issues/12022#issuecomment-3520050987 using your GitHub account -- Sent via github-notify-ml as configured in https://github.com/w3c/github-notify-ml-config
