Re: [csswg-drafts] [css-env][css-values] UAs inconsistent in how OS font settings affect the default font-size `medium` (#10674)

> I get the _impression_ from [#10674 (comment)](https://github.com/w3c/csswg-drafts/issues/10674#issuecomment-2695942277) that this thing being talked of in this issue may or may not be independent of the browser’s root font size, varying by user agent. Could we get clarity on what the relationship between these two things is, whether they’re the same or different, and why they are the way they are? Because they _sound_ to me like they should be the same thing.

Hi Chris, does https://github.com/w3c/csswg-drafts/issues/10674#issuecomment-2402983143 answer your question?

We are now in a world where UAs have their own default font-size (effectively the computed value of `font-size: medium`) which ignores the OS font-size settings. So these two new features will allow us as authors to access the OS font size, but it will be down to the UA to decide whether to let the user override the OS setting with a UA setting - maybe similar to the switch control Firefox for Android has now.
