Fwiw, WebKit has shipped by default to figure out the performance of the `normal` value, not really a choice based on user experience. I'm not convinced at the argument that because current sites already use ASCII spaces, we don't need this. Helping _future_ authors and making their authoring experience less hacky/painful is also super valuable. Though I'm also not super qualified to talk about CJK scripts so I'm curious to see what Japanese authors like @sakupi01 think what the best default value for `text-autospace` would be (see https://drafts.csswg.org/css-text-4/#propdef-text-autospace for all the possible choices), especially considering authoring for future sites. -- GitHub Notification of comment by nt1m Please view or discuss this issue at https://github.com/w3c/csswg-drafts/issues/12386#issuecomment-2997240401 using your GitHub account -- Sent via github-notify-ml as configured in https://github.com/w3c/github-notify-ml-config
