You can actually get better results with Raytrace by increasing the iterations at the cost of the time it takes to perform another iteration. So it can be tuned a bit to get tighter results. I picked 4 iterations as a decent middle ground. I think at Rec. 2020 width you get a little more hue shift, but it was deemed within acceptable limits. You could probably even increase iterations to 5 and potentially still be competitive.
