It took me a few days of experimentation before realizing that my monitor/OS setup is alright but the browser themselves are clipping the colors in unexpected ways. So here are some points I want to make: * How we gamut-mapping colors should be independent to how they are declared. There is no real reason to do otherwise, since gamut-mapping always needs to happen somehow. (e.g., someone could be using a monitor with 90% sRGB coverage so sRGB is not "safe" either) * I don't know what kind of clipping from Rec2020 to display is being talked about, but "channel clipping" is unacceptable, and it is the premise of this issue. Apologize for jumping into a discussion without much qualification or constructive feedback, but I do want to make sure we are on the right track for this issue. -- GitHub Notification of comment by ahyangyi Please view or discuss this issue at https://github.com/w3c/csswg-drafts/issues/9449#issuecomment-2944102496 using your GitHub account -- Sent via github-notify-ml as configured in https://github.com/w3c/github-notify-ml-config
