This is a little old, but why not give the option? Clamp by default, but if somebody sets the dynamic range to higher than SDR, then allow the filters to move into HDR color and luminance ranges. Artificially clamping the output would look wrong on HDR displays with mixed content sources. However, similar to what svgeesus was implying, the filter(s) would need to be rewritten to utilize HDR output. -- GitHub Notification of comment by aaronth07 Please view or discuss this issue at https://github.com/w3c/csswg-drafts/issues/11752#issuecomment-3055884748 using your GitHub account -- Sent via github-notify-ml as configured in https://github.com/w3c/github-notify-ml-config
