They don't, but I read various feedback linked from posts @sakupi01 quoted. As in my response to @myakura, they're mixed, some says the same reason as you wrote, and the exact ratio is not known. The motivation of this issue is that the ratio of people wanting no space is high enough to reconsider the initial value.
