Sorry to ping this issue, but has any resolution been reached? Current spec contains a definition for `match-parent` and an issue raised by Apple, but I can't find any further discussion. After the removal of `overflow: overlay`, it seems that having a scrollbar track with opacity is discouraged. A full-width element with a background looks like it has a margin on one side, especially with hover scrollbars. Sadly, there is no ideal way to keep the design the same for users with and without system overlay scrollbars. It's either forcing `scrollbar-gutter` for overlay users for consistency or hiding the scrollbar altogether. The ability to paint children below the parent scrollbar would greatly help bridge the design gap previously done using overlay scrollbars. -- GitHub Notification of comment by zubiden Please view or discuss this issue at https://github.com/w3c/csswg-drafts/issues/5232#issuecomment-2599515359 using your GitHub account -- Sent via github-notify-ml as configured in https://github.com/w3c/github-notify-ml-config
