Looking into this further, it should probably be a "[InvalidStateError](https://webidl.spec.whatwg.org/#invalidstateerror)" [DOMException](https://webidl.spec.whatwg.org/#idl-DOMException), just like in the [handle transition frame algorithm](https://drafts.csswg.org/css-view-transitions-1/#handle-transition-frame), step 5.
