I think the main problem is that we have a significant difference between the two browser engines *right now*, when the feature isn't even officially out of the gate. That may cause unforeseen confusion beyond this little demo among developers. Personally I'd be surprised to see WebKit align its behavior to Chrome if it's not clear if they misinterpreted the spec, or viceversa.
