RSeidelsohn has just created a new issue for https://github.com/w3c/csswg-drafts: == Add a —prefers-image-alternatives rule == Some people could profit from an option that tells websites to use alternatives to sending images. Images contribute to a significant part of web traffic. Blind users can not make use of them, so for them this bandwidth is wasted. Other users with low bandwidth might prefer to skip images in favour of faster website loading times. I suggest implementing a ˋ prefers-image-alternatives‘ rule that would allow websites to provide either a textual alternative without the actual image or to skip decorative images at all, saving bandwidth for the users that want it.
