The reason I'm reluctant to it is because `element-uuid()` feels less CSS-like, and almost like pointer manipulation (you can think of `element-uuid()` as the address to the element and `ident()` as a way to manipulate it). It's easier to teach `auto` than `element-uuid()` IMO. Perhaps it's more syntax bikeshedding at this point, but I would rather have some syntax that abstracts away things and feels more like CSS.
