Feels like this is trying to work around the problem which [more granular style capture](https://github.com/WICG/view-transitions/blob/main/explainer.md#more-granular-style-capture) would solve properly? I'm assuming it's the ink overflow from box decorations which becomes part of the images that we don't want to clip.
