^ Is an example of the above in Wikipedia (left is Firefox Nightly, right Safari). It's un-inverted because macOS' screenshot tool somehow didn't account for the color inversion.

After a bit more casual browsing in Safari I also noticed this causes very low contrast on a lot of other pages (the icons in https://www.mathjax.org for example are invisible or almost invisible), so are the icons in Safari's developer tools.
