[My proposal above](https://github.com/w3c/csswg-drafts/issues/10721#issuecomment-2414743959) seems to match the specified behavior (https://drafts.csswg.org/css-sizing-3/#fit-content-size) > **fit-content size** > If the [available space](https://drafts.csswg.org/css-sizing-3/#available) in a given axis is [definite](https://drafts.csswg.org/css-sizing-3/#definite), [...]. When sizing under a [min-content constraint](https://drafts.csswg.org/css-sizing-3/#min-content-constraint), equal to the [min-content size](https://drafts.csswg.org/css-sizing-3/#min-content). Otherwise, equal to the [max-content size](https://drafts.csswg.org/css-sizing-3/#max-content) in that axis. -- GitHub Notification of comment by Loirooriol Please view or discuss this issue at https://github.com/w3c/csswg-drafts/issues/10721#issuecomment-2529722558 using your GitHub account -- Sent via github-notify-ml as configured in https://github.com/w3c/github-notify-ml-config
