> Note: falling back from oblique to italic was [introduced in css-fonts-3](https://drafts.csswg.org/css-fonts-3/#oblique), but [CSS2.1 did not allow it](https://www.w3.org/TR/CSS21/fonts.html#font-styling)). However, even though css-fonts-3 is a REC, there is no test in WPT supporting fallback from oblique to italic. .
