@facelessuser Thanks so much for the detailed explanation. Now I see my understanding of the reason for using a MINDE in the first place was not correct. I used a plain chroma reduction to get the "real gamut limit", which is as you stated what the local clipping is supposed to avoid to get a better approximation. Because my "correct" version was clearly wrong, my results seemed off. @svgeesus The lightness/hue values were left untouched in my calculations, which was wrong.
