IMO, `font-width` is the only reasonable choice, because that's the established terminology (in particular, in OpenType). Now that we have variation-font support in browsers, it's possible for the `font-stretch` property to be directly connected to [the Width axis](https://learn.microsoft.com/en-gb/typography/opentype/spec/dvaraxistag_wdth) in variable fonts: https://codepen.io/jfkthame/pen/jOXdXpY?editors=1100. The naming mismatch is painful. We should have aliased it to `font-width` years ago.
