So this: <img width="1680" alt="Screenshot 2023-10-04 at 6 34 19 AM" src="https://github.com/w3c/csswg-drafts/assets/1055125/ad0be9ab-ffd5-41a5-b480-c9263d174a91"> looks like a correct implementation if `shorter` was specified. The hues are the same and the interpolation curve in Oklch is a straight line from red to black.
