In `corner-shape` world this looks like overlapped elements on a grid with the Image having a notched bottom left corner, the bottom element having a top right notch and then both of them use `border-radius` to round off the notched corners. This is considerably more straight forward than the videos proposed current CSS solution with multiple pseudo elements. An image mask is mentioned as a solutions and seems reasonable here but it would not be easy to modify.
