Re: [csswg-drafts] [css-color-4] Allow out-of-gamut HSL/HWB colors (previously "Move gamut mapping to a future spec") (#8444)

The CSS Working Group just discussed `[css-color-4] Allow out-of-gamut HSL/HWB colors (previously "Move gamut mapping to a future spec")`, and agreed to the following:

* `RESOLVED: allow out-of-gamut HSL and HWB colors`

<emeyer> chris: In the course of discussion about whether we shoudl do gamma mapping, it turns out to be observable through script in one case
<Rossen_> ack chris
<emeyer> …That’s when you convert to HSL or HWB
<TabAtkins> s/gamma/gamut/
<emeyer> …That’s not very helpful; worry is out-of-gamut colors could return unusual results when converting
<emeyer> …Proposal is that colors should be round-tripped
<emeyer> …You’ll get weird HSL values but it’s okay because that’s what you asked for
<emeyer> …HSL and HWB are lossy
<emeyer> …I’m in favor of the proposal, but been waiting for implementor input
<emeyer> Rossen: Any implementors here who want to provide input?
<emeyer> emilio: I need to look more carefully
<emeyer> Rossen: Are you opposed?
<emeyer> emilio: Not particularly
<emeyer> Rossen: This doesn’t sound like it’s raising an initial strong reaction
<emeyer> emilio: I’d be fine resolving and I can come back if there’s a problem
<emeyer> chris: proposal is to allow out-of-gamut HSL and HWB colors
<emeyer> Rossen: objections?
<emeyer> (silence)
<emeyer> RESOLVED: allow out-of-gamut HSL and HWB colors
