SebastianZ has just created a new issue for https://github.com/w3c/csswg-drafts: == [css-borders-4] Allow to define individual spread radii for the different sides of box shadows == @LeaVerou [mentioned many years ago](https://lists.w3.org/Archives/Public/www-style/2011Sep/0380.html) that it would be handy to have the ability to set individual values for horizontal and vertical spread radii on box shadows. This would allow to create smear effects, for example, by defining 0 for one direction and a non-zero value for the other direction. And it would also allow to create a wider variety of drop shadows imitating light coming from a specific angle. While her example only split the spread radius into two values, I could imagine this to be split into up to four. Doing so would even allow to create point light shadow effects.
