As @chriscoyier [pointed out recently](https://chriscoyier.net/2023/01/16/intuitive-list-item-transitions-with-the-view-transitions-api/), this solution doesn't really give authors a way to define transitions for the unique names that are generated. How would an author write `::view-transition-*` selectors to target these elements with dynamically generated names? In your example, you use the `*` name selector, but that would target all view transitions on the page. Ideally, we'd be able to target just list-items. Maybe I'm missing something that already makes that possible? -- GitHub Notification of comment by mirisuzanne Please view or discuss this issue at https://github.com/w3c/csswg-drafts/issues/8320#issuecomment-1387481781 using your GitHub account -- Sent via github-notify-ml as configured in https://github.com/w3c/github-notify-ml-config
