We already discussed that; there are a bunch of differences now (not just comma vs. space) between the legacy and modern syntaxes in CSS Color 4: https://w3c.github.io/csswg-drafts/css-color-4/#color-syntax-modern and more in CSS Color 5, which adds RCS: https://w3c.github.io/csswg-drafts/css-color-5/#relative-colors We also have excellent interop on the current legacy syntax, and scripts likely make assumptions about what syntax is allowed. So back-porting all this to the legacy syntaxes is a large change. -- GitHub Notification of comment by svgeesus Please view or discuss this issue at https://github.com/w3c/csswg-drafts/issues/8231#issuecomment-1438978163 using your GitHub account -- Sent via github-notify-ml as configured in https://github.com/w3c/github-notify-ml-config
