I discussed with Chromium implementation experts. They believe we will be able to implement a `contrast-color()` algorithm that outputs either black or white, and which takes into account OS and hardware gamut mapping, while also preserving accessibility. My suggestion is to word the spec accordingly. How about: `Implementations must take into account OS and hardware gamut mapping when choosing an output color, to ensure accessibility for users in the contrasting color output.` -- GitHub Notification of comment by chrishtr Please view or discuss this issue at https://github.com/w3c/csswg-drafts/issues/8539#issuecomment-1692267602 using your GitHub account -- Sent via github-notify-ml as configured in https://github.com/w3c/github-notify-ml-config
