I'd say this feature request can apply to cross-document (MPA) cases as well. The request is to be able to style the VT's pseudo tree based on the state (type) of the transition. There are also concrete examples for setting `view-transition-name`'s as well. Using the pseudo-classes from https://github.com/w3c/csswg-drafts/issues/8960#issuecomment-1671986616 should cover the requests above.
