It may be helpfull to get a link on *simple selector* in *3.9. Invalid Selectors and Error Handling* to its definition in *3.1. Structure and Terminology*, because `<simple-selector>` does not match a pseudo-element, which left the error handling of invalid pseudo-classes/elements following a pseudo-element undefined, but I guess this is related to *Issue 1: Pseudo-elements aren’t handled here, and should be.*. -- GitHub Notification of comment by cdoublev Please view or discuss this issue at https://github.com/w3c/csswg-drafts/issues/2352#issuecomment-1328223505 using your GitHub account -- Sent via github-notify-ml as configured in https://github.com/w3c/github-notify-ml-config
