A [Twitter poll](https://twitter.com/svgeesus/status/1592956077959942145) found that most people don't know what `font-stretch` property does and had never used it. Those who hazarded a guess slightly favored the (incorrect) "it stretches the glyphs" interpretation (which the spec currently forbids) over the correct, "it selects a width variant" option. ![image](https://user-images.githubusercontent.com/2506926/202566685-82ca4cd3-f08d-4b3b-9420-e10d9977a549.png) The [same poll on Mastodon](https://mastodon.social/@svgeesus/109355099109547015) reversed the slight lead among those guessing what it does (perhaps due to promotion on type.social) but again most respondents had not used it. ![image](https://user-images.githubusercontent.com/2506926/202567132-91b1aa78-dbe9-4b86-8049-246e430777d3.png) -- GitHub Notification of comment by svgeesus Please view or discuss this issue at https://github.com/w3c/csswg-drafts/issues/551#issuecomment-1319254229 using your GitHub account -- Sent via github-notify-ml as configured in https://github.com/w3c/github-notify-ml-config
