There is some funding and there is ongoing work to improve the server’s stability and performance. (As you noted, the DB is no longer falling over, but there’s still work to do on general performance.) However, the current funding isn’t covering specific improvements to the test infrastructure (aside from porting to Python 3). I’m happy to leave this issue open for now.
