This is something that has crossed my mind as well. I have a 2 player twitch layout with matching but reversed background images. I thought it would be handy if the even iteration of the `background-repeat` were rotated-y and then just `background-position` it into place like an auto generated sprite? ![image](https://user-images.githubusercontent.com/1286791/181129857-3ab1cd10-3ef1-436e-abc2-f8080f99f105.png) seems like there is some cross over here with the `@image` proposal https://github.com/w3c/csswg-drafts/issues/6807 -- GitHub Notification of comment by jsnkuhn Please view or discuss this issue at https://github.com/w3c/csswg-drafts/issues/7534#issuecomment-1196102271 using your GitHub account -- Sent via github-notify-ml as configured in https://github.com/w3c/github-notify-ml-config
