If units are supposed to be used then the web platform tests and WebKit implementation are incorrect. The tests show the same result for all units, regardless of the computed value. https://github.com/web-platform-tests/wpt/blob/87caf6dd1c7b2395c3b7de4fa15c4f36aea42352/css/css-values/acos-asin-atan-atan2-computed.html#L61 But this doesn't answer the question about what to do in the case where the units don't match or a single unit cannot be determined.
