This is a great one. Have come across a few situations where this could come in handy. Mostly had to rely on a bit of JS for this in the past. This should be made possible in CSS. I do like the syntax with the slashes as it removes the need for an extra property. As long as we could handle this with variables, it seems ok to me. In complex matters we might want to store this.
