Yes, the syntax you drafted resembles very closely the proposal that @tabatkins previously published here: https://tabatkins.github.io/specs/css-when-else/ which was [briefly mentioned in the notes](https://github.com/w3c/csswg-drafts/issues/6520#issuecomment-905712330) for the last CSS WG meeting. Yes, perhaps if we explore this further we'll have a future ergonomics improvement for `@supports` & `font-technology()`.
