[csswg-drafts] [mediaqueries-5] Use cases for new media queries that represent some form of adaptation are unclear (#6757)

WebDev-a11y has just created a new issue for https://github.com/w3c/csswg-drafts:

== [mediaqueries-5] Use cases for new media queries that represent some form of adaptation are unclear ==
In media queries level 5 (and 4) we have the ability for authors to specify:

1. environment-blending
2. prefers-reduced-transparency
3. prefers-contrast

The use cases for these even with the documentation is _wildly unclear_. Not because I don't understand the scenarios in which one might want to apply them, but because there really doesn't seem to be much distinction between this.

For example, let's take "@media (environment-blending: additive)" signifying that the current environment is blended. An example of this might be a device such as:

This isn't unique to just these. There are many issues that have already been raised, amongst members of the working group, along these lines. The most prominent one I've seen is forced-colors and the implications of it.
