> The & is already widely used as the nesting selector in a wide range of preprocessors I've mentioned it before, of course, but the interpretation / behavior / semantics of `&` vary across each pre-processor, which also differ from the CSS spec (although they roughly align in concept?), so there is still the possibility of conflict / confusion, but that may be resolvable (the conflict / confusion may be slight?), and it may still be the best / favored option.
