Re: [csswg-drafts] [css-color-4] Concerns about color() function fallback (#5931)

The CSS Working Group just discussed `[css-color-4] Concerns about color() function fallback`, and agreed to the following:

* `RESOLVED: remove color() function fallback`

<details>
The full IRC log of that discussion

<dael> Topic: [css-color-4] Concerns about color() function fallback
<dael> github: https://github.com/w3c/csswg-drafts/issues/5931
<dael> chris: Concern expressed about the syntax. I explained came from SVG
<dael> chris: Doens't have much value, complicates parsing and typedOM. Seem to be consensus on removing. People that impl like BFO are fine dropping
<dael> chris: Since then discussion has drifted to what to use instead. I sense consensus on dropping, would liker esolution
<Rossen_> q?
<faceless> Big +1 from us
<dael> leaverou_: Fine to remove as long as we add in-gamut MQ so authors can do fallbacks that way. I think we have consensus on that too
<dael> chris: Agree with leaverou_ that's good to solve, but separate issue
<dael> Rossen_: I want to separate the two. To your earlier point the other mech must be worked on and we need to figure out CSS way, but is there objections to removing this?
<dael> RESOLVED: remove color() function fallback
<dael> Rossen_: I would urge you to fork the other discussion into a different issue
<dael> leaverou_: There is a different issue
</details>
