@tabatkins and I just committed the [changes](https://github.com/w3c/csswg-drafts/commit/0f78ba4ee462bf3ea879a122789dc153780b88f6) for this. We named the unit `sv*` (small viewport) and also added `dv*` (dynamic viewport) per https://github.com/w3c/csswg-drafts/issues/6113 The changes should show up in the ED soon: https://drafts.csswg.org/css-values-4/#viewport-relative-lengths Official minutes corresponding to the WG discussions leading to these changes are: - https://lists.w3.org/Archives/Public/www-style/2020Feb/0007.html - https://lists.w3.org/Archives/Public/www-style/2021May/0010.html We marked some follow-up issues in the draft: - Is mapping the unprefixed units to the behavior that crops content always really the right thing to do? It violates our “avoid dataloss by default” principle, see https://github.com/w3c/csswg-drafts/issues/4329#issuecomment-545495741 - Along those lines, should we add explicit units for “I want the larger size” (`lv*`)?
