I agree, as already used on [`color-mix()`](https://drafts.csswg.org/css-color-5/#color-mix) and [`color-adjust()`](https://drafts.csswg.org/css-color-5/#coloradjust), `in <colorspace>` is the natural way to extend gradients from their current sRGB-only state. Ans yes, for [cylindrical polar color spacea](https://drafts.csswg.org/css-color-4/#cylindrical-polar-color) like HSL, HWB and LCH, an optional keyword for the [hue direction](https://drafts.csswg.org/css-color-4/#hue-interpolation) is needed. The default value would be the shorter hue arc. -- GitHub Notification of comment by svgeesus Please view or discuss this issue at https://github.com/w3c/csswg-drafts/issues/6369#issuecomment-857856030 using your GitHub account -- Sent via github-notify-ml as configured in https://github.com/w3c/github-notify-ml-config
